Youth

Youth

St. Andrew’s has a strong commitment in growing our youth ministry. We continue to find ways to keep our youth connected with each other and our church family. We are excited to provide faith-based programs beyond middle school and have a committed group of youth and young adults who attend regularly on Sunday mornings and for other events. Our programs are designed to engage young people in positive relationships and encouraging dialogue as they build strong foundations for life and in their journey of faith.

Leadership

Our Youth Director David Chung, together with our Youth Advisory Team and volunteers create a program that includes Sunday morning learning, youth events, as well as outreach ministry and seasonal weekend retreats.

Sunday Ministry

The youth meet regularly on Sunday mornings with David Chung for learning and discussion on various aspects of growing one’s faith. Recently the group is working through the book written by Francis Chan, “Crazy Love”. The focus is on encouraging the youth to grow in Christ, become closer to Him, and how to live in Him throughout the week. We also welcome the youth to stay and participate in the church service especially when specific sermons will further grow their learning and faith.

Youth Ministry Events

Stay tuned to the Upcoming Events section of the website for regular updates of youth events. We usually meet at least one weekend per month, either a Friday or Saturday for a variety of events including some just for fun and others focused on outreach. A highlight each year is to attend the weekend youth retreats held twice per year at a variety of retreat locations.

Young Adults

We now have a growing number of our youth who have graduated into college and university programs. David Chung provides leadership to this group on a biweekly basis, introducing them to a variety of ways of bible study, having just completed the book of Ruth. These learning and discussions take place Sunday afternoons at the church. We also try to stay connected with our young adults by a variety of means of technology.
